USA Track and Field South Carolina and Myrtle Beach Sports will offer a clinic on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024 for prospective track and field officials and certified officials who plan to get recertified. This FREE clinic will start at Pepper Geddings Recreation Center (3205 N Oak St, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577) and then move to Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Parking is available in the lot between Pepper Geddings and the stadium off of 33rd Avenue North. The clinic will cover the basics of officiating field events and track events. Each event session will be led by an experienced USATF Official in a hands on, interactive setting. The clinic will cover high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump, shot put, javelin, discus and hammer, as well as track events. USATF officials will review the process and requirements for becoming certified or re-certified.

2025-2028 Recertification: The certification of all USATF officials expires at the end of each Olympiad. The recertification process opens on Nov 1, 2024 and should be completed by Dec 31, 2024, but not later than Mar 31, 2025.
At the conclusion of the clinic you will complete a rules review needed to start of the process of certification or recertification. Myrtle Beach Sports staff will share information about collegiate, high school, and championship meets to be held at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in 2025 and beyond.
USATF Certified officials are compensated for working meets at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium starting at $100/day.
Additionally, there is an opportunity for reimbursement of USATF certification fees.
