2026 track and Field Officials Certification Training Course offered through City of myrtle beach sports tourism division
Course starts October 8th and meets on a weekly basis

Myrtle Beach Sports will offer a FREE Track & Field Officials Certification Training course this Fall at City of Myrtle Beach Recreation Center locations, including hands on training at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. Myrtle Beach Sports hosts the Spring Break Meets in March and April on an annual basis. In addition to supporting various Championship TF events.

The course will cover the basics of officiating track and field events using the classroom and a hands on, interactive setting. The course will cover high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump, shot put, javelin, discus and hammer, as well as track, hurdle and relay events. We will review the process and requirements for becoming certified.

For the final class you will complete a rules review needed to start of the process of certification through USATF. Myrtle Beach Sports staff will share information about collegiate, high school, and championship meets to be held at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in 2027 and beyond.
USATF Certified officials are compensated for working meets at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium starting at $115/day.
Additionally, there is an opportunity for reimbursement of USATF certification fees for local officials who work a minimum number of meets per season.
